Taipei Fubon Bank Survey Finds More Than Half of Companies Have Yet to Take Sustainability Action
Taipei Fubon Bank released a corporate ESG survey in 2026 assessing the progress of Taiwanese companies in pursuing sustainable transformation. The findings showed that small and medium-sized enterprises lag significantly because of constraints on staffing, resources and their ability to respond to regulations. As labor shortages worsen, labor relations, employee rights and migrant-worker management have also become key ESG governance issues.
The latest survey found that 52% of Taiwanese companies, predominantly small and medium-sized businesses, have yet to begin taking sustainability action, pointing to a continued gap between policy requirements and corporate implementation. Taipei Fubon Bank said it would begin providing transition support in 2026 by combining financial services with corporate workshops. The survey did not disclose the amount of related investment.
