Groq Inference Chips Offer Five Times Better Price-Performance Than NVIDIA Blackwell
NVIDIA has long dominated the AI accelerator market, but as businesses adopt generative AI, computing demand is gradually shifting from model training to large-scale, continuous inference. AI infrastructure provider Nebius says inference cost and speed will become key purchasing criteria, giving specialized chipmakers such as Groq an opportunity to challenge NVIDIA’s Blackwell lineup.
As of July 20, 2026, Nebius said Groq chips cost about $0.05–$0.10 per million tokens to operate, roughly one-fifth the cost of NVIDIA’s Blackwell B series, while offering about five times better price-performance. They also run inference about twice as fast, underscoring the growing competitiveness of alternatives as enterprise AI workloads enter a more cost-driven phase.
