Analyst Says Bitcoin Is at the Start of a Widely Doubted Bull Run

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-17 · Last active 2026-04-17

Bitcoin’s bull and bear market turns have traditionally been viewed through the four-year halving cycle, but trader Taiki Maeda believes the latest price action has broken that old pattern. With fear widespread and investors having reduced their exposure or taken short positions, potential selling pressure may now be limited. Meanwhile, Michael Saylor’s Strategy is raising funds through STRC to buy Bitcoin, creating a steady source of institutional demand.

An analysis published on April 17, 2026, said the Fear & Greed Index recorded its lowest-ever reading for the start of a month in crypto market history in April. BTC experienced extreme fear at around $66,000 before later trading at about $74,000. Maeda estimated that Strategy bought $1.56 billion of BTC in March and about $3 billion more during the first two weeks of April. STRC’s annualized yield of roughly 11.5% is among the factors underpinning his view that the market has bottomed.
