OpenAI Opens Supply Co. Merchandise Store to the Public
OpenAI previously kept most of its branded apparel and accessories within the company, apart from a brief public sale in December 2025 marking its 10th anniversary. The permanent opening of Supply Co. reflects a broader push by technology companies to turn corporate identity into consumer culture. For OpenAI, whose annualized revenue exceeded $25 billion as of March 2026, merchandise is aimed more at community and affiliation than material sales.
OpenAI opened Supply Co. to the public during the week of July 20, according to a July 23 report, offering $15 ChatGPT socks, $40 T-shirts and baseball caps, a $175 research half-zip and a $70 ChatGPT basketball. Products also carry language rooted in the company’s founding charter, including “AGI that benefits all of humanity.” A “Good research takes time” shirt sold out in nearly every size within hours, while the basketball disappeared almost immediately.
