Mollie Completes GoCardless Acquisition
Mollie is a European payments provider serving businesses with digital checkout and payment-processing tools, while GoCardless specializes in bank debit and account-to-account payments. Combining their platforms broadens Mollie’s offering across cards, local payment methods and recurring bank payments, giving merchants a more unified way to collect domestic and cross-border payments. The deal also strengthens Mollie’s position in the competitive global payments market.
Mollie said on Sept. 3, 2026, that it had formally completed its acquisition of GoCardless, marking the closing of the transaction. GoCardless’ bank-payment technology and international network will now be integrated with Mollie’s digital payments platform, expanding the combined group’s capabilities in direct debit, recurring billing and account-to-account payments. The completion announcement did not disclose the purchase price or provide a detailed timetable for integration.
