AWS Launches Agent Registry Preview for Centralized, Cross-Cloud Management of Enterprise AI Agents
As enterprises adopt generative AI, their agents are often scattered across AWS, other public clouds and on-premises environments, complicating inventory management, access governance and efforts to avoid duplicate development. Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced Agent Registry as a single enterprise catalog that allows teams to discover, govern and reuse existing agents across environments.
AWS has released Agent Registry in preview with native support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), combining registration, versioning, permissions, lifecycle management and semantic search. As of July 20, 2026, AWS had not announced a general-availability date or pricing. The preview currently allows enterprises to test centralized management across cloud environments.
