Transcend to Raise NT$3 Billion as AI Fuels Memory Supercycle
Rapid expansion of AI servers and data centers is driving demand for memory products including DRAM and NAND flash. Transcend Information Chairman Shu Chong-wan believes AI has broken the industry’s traditional cycle of roughly three to four years. He sees the memory market entering a “supercycle” driven by long-term computing demand, making supply and inventory strategies increasingly important.
Shu expects the memory market to face shortages in 2027–2028. To secure supplies in advance and fund procurement and working capital, Transcend plans to issue commercial paper and corporate bonds to raise a combined NT$3 billion. The financing will give the company greater flexibility to manage AI-driven demand growth and the risk of tightening supply.
