Bitwise Launches Tokenized Stock Portfolios With Coinbase
Tokenized equities put exposure to traditional shares on blockchain rails, allowing investors to hold and use positions through self-custodied wallets. Bitwise Asset Management’s new offering goes beyond trading individual tokens by combining its portfolio models with Coinbase-issued tokenized stocks and Glider’s automated rebalancing technology. The structure differs from an ETF or mutual fund because investors retain the individual holdings rather than owning units in a pooled vehicle.
Bitwise launched the Automated Token Portfolios on Aug. 25, 2026, with three initial strategies: Mag7X, Robotics and AI Leaders. Mag7X equally weights the Magnificent Seven — Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Amazon, Meta and Tesla — alongside SpaceX. Coinbase issues the stock tokens with 1:1 backing by underlying shares, while Glider adjusts wallet holdings to Bitwise’s target weights. The products are limited to eligible investors outside the United States. Bitwise managed $9 billion in client assets as of July 1.
