Notorious Ethereum MEV Bot Exploited for $7.5 Million

4 reports · First detected 2026-06-21 · Last active 2026-06-22

Jaredfromsubway.eth is one of Ethereum's most active maximal extractable value, or MEV, bots and has profited since 2023 by front-running and back-running user transactions through “sandwich attacks.” Such tactics increase slippage and gas fees. The bot was once estimated to account for about 70% of all sandwich attacks on the network, drawing particular attention to the exploitation of its own automated system.

Blockchain security company Blockaid said the attacker deployed 66 counterfeit WETH, USDC and USDT contracts and fake liquidity pools over several weeks, tricking the bot into leaving token approvals in place. On June 20, 2026, the attacker used a single transaction to drain 1,474.58 WETH, 2.87 million USDC and 2 million USDT, valued on-chain at more than $7.5 million. The operator said the total loss was close to $15 million.
