Stanford AI Course Draws 500 Students, With Jensen Huang and Sam Altman Among Guest Lecturers

Stanford University’s spring course “Frontier Systems” focuses on AI infrastructure, spanning chips and computing systems through models and applications. With generative AI driving demand for computing power and tighter hardware-software integration, the course aims to give students an understanding of the full technology stack. Hands-on work is designed to turn industry knowledge into practical development outcomes.

The 10-week course was originally planned for about 60 students, but the latest enrollment has surged to 500, reflecting strong campus demand for AI systems training. Industry leaders including NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will teach sessions themselves. Students will complete projects during the spring term aimed at creating value in the real world.
