Solana Celebrity Memecoin Boom Exposes Deployer’s Token-Factory Arbitrage
The Solana ecosystem has recently been swept up in a celebrity memecoin boom, with tokens bearing the names of crypto influencer Ansem and trader TJR quickly attracting capital. ANSEM’s market capitalization first topped $160 million, while TJR reached $28 million. The episode highlights the risks associated with celebrity-driven attention, highly concentrated token ownership and arbitrage by deployers.
Within 12 hours of its airdrop, ANSEM’s market capitalization had at one point doubled to more than $350 million. Ansem held about 65% of the supply and said the position was intended to prevent dumping and steer attention toward quality projects. On-chain data, however, showed that the deployer address “yHCxHB” made about $6.08 million in seven days through a token-production pipeline and related trading activity. The celebrities involved have publicly denied any connection to the tokens’ deployment.
