Bitdeer Sells Entire Bitcoin Holding, but Jihan Wu Says It May Buy Again

3 reports · First detected 2026-02-23 · Last active 2026-05-03

Bitdeer, the Bitcoin mining company founded by Jihan Wu, previously retained some of its mined coins as asset reserves. Amid pressure in the Bitcoin market and volatile mining returns, the company has shifted to selling coins as they are mined while continuing to invest in AI infrastructure. The move reflects a broader reallocation of capital and operational priorities among miners.

In the latest week, Bitdeer mined 186 Bitcoin and sold all of them, reducing its own holdings to zero. Related reports did not disclose the sale date or transaction value. Wu said the disposal was a temporary financial adjustment and did not mean the company was permanently abandoning its Bitcoin-holding strategy. Bitdeer could accumulate Bitcoin again in the future, depending on market conditions.
