Automattic Brings Mesh CRM to Android, Plans AI Features
Automattic acquired personal relationship manager Clay in June 2025 for an undisclosed sum and renamed it Mesh on March 26, 2026. Unlike sales-focused enterprise CRM software, Mesh combines contacts, email, calendars and social data to help individuals track interactions and time follow-ups. The product is strategically relevant to Automattic because it can serve as a relationship and identity layer across a portfolio that also includes WordPress.com and universal messaging app Beeper.
Mesh’s Android app arrived on Google Play in July 2026, with the listing updated July 1. Designed for phones, tablets and foldables, it supports split-screen use, home-screen widgets and real-time syncing with iOS, desktop and web. Mesh Personal is free for up to 1,000 contacts, while Pro costs $20 a month or $120 a year and includes unlimited contacts. Automattic plans deeper Beeper integration and AI features intended to reduce the manual work of organizing relationships and acting on communication context.
