Shin Kong Life Sells Taipei Luxury Homes for NT$301.1 Million at a Loss
President Jasper Villa is an upscale residential development in Taipei’s Zhongzheng District and part of Shin Kong Life’s real estate portfolio. Property holdings are a key source of long-term returns and asset allocation for Taiwan insurers, making disposals closely watched for signals on valuation discipline and market liquidity. A sale below carrying value can crystallize losses even when it releases capital and reduces exposure to individual properties.
As of Aug. 5, 2026, Shin Kong Life said it would sell three units at President Jasper Villa for a combined NT$301.1 million to three individual buyers. The insurer expects to record a disposal loss of about NT$4.25 million. It said the transactions were executed in line with a board resolution and market appraisals, indicating the pricing followed formal governance and independent valuation procedures despite the modest loss.
