Dunamu, Visa Team Up on Stablecoin Payments and AI Commerce
Dunamu, the operator of South Korea’s Upbit cryptocurrency exchange, is partnering with global payments network Visa as stablecoins gain traction in mainstream settlement and commerce. The initiative brings together Dunamu’s digital-asset infrastructure and Visa’s payments reach, with a focus on stablecoin transactions and artificial intelligence-enabled commerce. The tie-up also underscores South Korea’s growing importance as payments companies and crypto firms test new blockchain-based financial services.
The companies said they would jointly explore stablecoin and AI-related business opportunities, including potential payment-platform applications. Dunamu specifically said the partners will evaluate the feasibility of using OUSD, a stablecoin associated with Open Standard, in future projects. The announcement did not include a launch date, investment amount or detailed product roadmap, leaving regulatory compliance, use cases and the timing of any commercial rollout as the main issues to watch.
