Genius Group Targets $827 Million Bitcoin Treasury Rebuild

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-29 · Last active 2026-08-29

Genius Group, a listed education and artificial-intelligence company, has previously used Bitcoin as part of its corporate treasury strategy. Its planned return to the cryptocurrency market comes about five months after a selloff, marking an effort to rebuild the balance sheet around two volatile asset themes. The move is significant because it combines a Bitcoin reserve with a separate pool of AI-related assets, increasing both the company’s potential upside and its financing and market risks.

Genius Group plans to acquire $827 million of Bitcoin and establish an $800 million AI reserve by fiscal 2031 under a new dual-reserve strategy. The company intends to fund the buildup through perpetual preferred securities, or PPS, and a $1.2 billion shelf registration approved by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The proposed financing would allow Genius Group to sell securities over time as it rebuilds its Bitcoin holdings following the disposal five months earlier.

Genius Group Sells Bitcoin Holdings to Repay Debt2026-04-02 · 1 reports · similarity 0.85

Genius Group is a publicly traded company focused on AI education. On November 12, 2024, it announced a "Bitcoin-first" strategy under which it planned to allocate at least 90% of its reserves to Bitcoin, with an initial target of $120 million. The liquidation shows that companies facing cryptocurrency price volatility and debt repayment pressure must still prioritize balance-sheet stability.

Genius Group said on April 1, 2026, that it had sold the 84.15 Bitcoin it still held as of February 6 and fully repaid $8.5 million of debt. It plans to rebuild its reserves when market conditions improve. First-quarter 2026 revenue was $3.3 million, up 171% from a year earlier, while gross profit rose 228% to $2 million. Net operating profit was $2.7 million, compared with a $500,000 loss in the same period last year.
