Ripple Invests in Flutterwave to Expand Stablecoin and XRPL Payments Across Africa
Flutterwave is a major African payments provider operating across 34 markets on the continent. It has processed more than 1 billion transactions worth over $50 billion in total. Cross-border remittances in Africa have long been hampered by slow settlement and high foreign-exchange costs, making Flutterwave’s extensive payment network an important gateway for Ripple to expand real-world stablecoin use.
Ripple announced on June 16, 2026, that it had participated in Flutterwave’s Series E funding round, which valued the company at $3.2 billion. Ripple did not disclose the size of its investment. The companies will integrate the U.S. dollar stablecoin RLUSD, Ripple Payments and the XRP Ledger into Flutterwave’s payment system and Send App remittance channel to accelerate cross-border settlement and reduce costs.
