Oracle, Quantinuum Bring Helios Quantum Computing to OCI

Quantum computing tackles certain complex problems differently from conventional processors, but broader commercial use is likely to depend on integrating quantum hardware with artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and familiar cloud tools. That makes the Oracle-Quantinuum tie-up significant: it is intended to place a quantum processor inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or OCI, where enterprises, AI labs and universities could test hybrid workflows for drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling and large-scale optimization without operating specialist facilities.

Quantinuum and Oracle announced the multi-year strategic partnership on Aug. 11, 2026, saying the Helios system will be installed at a U.S.-based OCI AI data center and offered through a planned OCI quantum service. Oracle expects to preview the service in the coming months, though no launch date or financial terms were disclosed. Commercially launched in November 2025, Helios has 98 physical qubits, has demonstrated 48 logical qubits and posts average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%.
