ChatGPT Gains Write Access as Enterprise AI Push Reshapes Infrastructure

OpenAI is pushing ChatGPT beyond a conversational assistant toward an execution layer embedded in corporate operations. Write access would let the system update documents, records and business processes instead of merely reading data or recommending actions. The latest report highlights ChatGPT’s shift from being able to read enterprise information to being able to modify it, marking a deeper step into day-to-day workflows. The change could accelerate automation but raises the stakes for access controls, audit trails, data leakage and erroneous actions. The report did not disclose a launch date, named enterprise customers, investment amounts or quantitative estimates for computing and power demand.
