Gogolook’s JUJI Launches Taiwan’s First Corporate-Sponsored Basic Income Trial

Universal basic income programs provide recurring cash without employment or spending conditions, aiming to give recipients a financial buffer against income volatility and unexpected expenses. JUJI, a small-loan app operated by Taiwan-based fraud-prevention company Gogolook, is partnering with advocacy group UBI Taiwan to test whether direct cash support can help financially vulnerable people while advancing financial inclusion through a fintech-led model.

Under the initiative, called the Life Rewrite Project, selected participants will receive NT$10,000 ($307) a month unconditionally for 12 months, totaling NT$120,000 per person from the date each participant enters the program. Organizers describe it as Taiwan’s first corporate-sponsored basic income experiment and the first globally to link such a trial directly to a company’s fintech business model. The project will track how a year of predictable cash support affects recipients’ lives.
