Doctor Profit Flags Bitcoin’s Fourth Bottoming Signal Since 2015
Glassnode’s Bitcoin realized price age bands track the average acquisition cost of coins grouped by how long they have been held, offering a view of cost bases across investor cohorts. Trader Doctor Profit says a crossover between key bands has historically appeared during late-stage bear markets, when weaker holders exit and longer-term investors accumulate. The indicator may identify the beginning of a broad bottoming phase, but does not imply an immediate price rebound.
Doctor Profit said the chart recently produced its fourth such crossover since 2015, pointing to a potential new period of market-bottom formation and accumulation. Bitcoin gained just 0.18% over the latest 60-day period, leaving the cryptocurrency virtually unchanged despite wider market swings. He cited previous occurrences as evidence that the signal can mark the start of a long-term bottoming range, though subsequent fund flows and price action would still be needed to confirm the pattern.
