Taiwan Rises to Eighth Globally in CFP Professionals
The number of Certified Financial Planner professionals is a key gauge of the talent available to serve wealth-management clients under internationally recognized standards. As Taiwan seeks to establish itself as an Asian asset-management hub, a deeper pool of CFP professionals could strengthen retirement planning, cross-border asset allocation and services for high-net-worth clients, while improving the financial sector’s international competitiveness.
The Financial Planning Association of Taiwan, or FPAT, projected that Taiwan would have 4,005 active CFP professionals by the end of 2025, lifting it to eighth place globally. FPAT Chairman Lin Chih-yen said the association plans to deepen cooperation with counterparts in Japan and South Korea and target growing demand for retirement, inheritance and broader financial planning as Taiwan’s population ages.
