World Launches World Money Super App With Stripe, Stablecoins

3 reports · First detected 2026-09-18 · Last active 2026-09-18

World, formerly known as Worldcoin, is an identity-focused crypto project developed by Tools for Humanity, the company co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania. Its World ID system is designed to prove that an account belongs to a unique person, a proposition the group says is gaining importance as artificial intelligence makes fake accounts cheaper to create. Since launching World App in May 2023, World has steadily added wallet, payment and third-party app functions.

World said on Sept. 17, 2026, that World Money had begun rolling out in more than 150 countries. The self-custodial app supports balances in eight currencies, cross-border transfers, trading and yield products. U.S. users can fund accounts through Stripe and turn Apple Pay funds into stablecoins, typically within minutes, while Mini Apps include Kalshi, Credit and Morpho. Orb-based World ID verification unlocks limited-time reward boosts, though World disclosed no reward amount or rate.

MoneyGram Joins Stripe’s Tempo as Validator, Integrating Stablecoin Cross-Border Settlementfirst seen 2026-05-21 · 2 reports · similarity 0.73 · same topic: Stripe

MoneyGram is a major global cross-border money-transfer provider and has expanded into digital-asset settlement in recent years through Stellar and USDC. Tempo, a Layer 1 payments blockchain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm, is designed for stablecoin transactions and enterprise payments. The partnership could help reduce friction in cross-border settlement across traditional remittance networks.

MoneyGram recently announced that it had joined Tempo as a remittance validator, further integrating blockchain and stablecoin settlement into its global money-transfer network. As of July 20, 2026, the companies had not disclosed the value of the partnership, a formal launch date or the number of markets to be covered. The agreement extends MoneyGram’s digital-payments strategy built around USDC and Stellar.
