Tesla Advances FSD v15, Targets 2027 Optimus Sales
Tesla is extending its artificial-intelligence strategy beyond electric vehicles into physical automation. Its next-generation Full Self-Driving software, FSD v15, is being developed with Level 4 unsupervised driving as the goal. Optimus, the company’s humanoid robot, draws on related vision, neural-network and control technology. Progress on both programs is important to Tesla’s effort to build new revenue streams beyond car manufacturing.
Chief Executive Elon Musk said Tesla is moving ahead with FSD v15 and has completed the final design of Optimus. The company is accelerating production integration at its factories in California and Texas, with plans to deploy the robots internally before selling them to outside customers in 2027. Tesla has not disclosed a firm launch date for FSD v15 or detailed Optimus production targets and pricing.
