Enda Tamweel and The Hashgraph Association Launch Hedera Loyalty Program
Tunisia’s microfinance sector serves women, rural communities and small businesses often excluded from traditional banking. Enda Tamweel is the country’s market leader, with more than 544,000 active clients and a 79% market share. Its adoption of Hedera distributed-ledger technology is among the first such microfinance deployments in Africa and the Middle East, extending blockchain use beyond crypto trading into financial inclusion and customer engagement.
Enda Tamweel and Swiss nonprofit The Hashgraph Association announced the loyalty program on May 4, 2026. Connected to the lender’s existing systems through APIs, the platform records key transactions on Hedera and rewards timely repayments as well as positive social and environmental behavior. Enda says 1.3 million beneficiaries have received 5.6 million loans totaling $4.2 billion, while a built-in referral feature is expected to attract 120,000 new clients annually.
