Taiwan Central Bank Expects 2026 Treasury Contribution to Top NT$200 Billion, a 16-Year High
In addition to overseeing monetary policy, financial stability and foreign-exchange management, Taiwan’s central bank has long contributed earnings from its foreign-exchange assets and other operations to the government. A 2026 treasury contribution exceeding NT$200 billion would reflect both its asset-management performance and its contribution to public finances.
The central bank now expects its 2026 surplus payment to the treasury to exceed NT$200 billion, extending its run to a fresh 16-year high. Governor Yang Chin-long said the bank’s top priorities remain maintaining financial stability and meeting its operational objectives, while remitting its surplus is a responsibility carried out in accordance with regulations and the annual budget.
