AI Security Tools Cut Crypto Contract Audit Costs, Reshape Due Diligence Standards
Once a smart contract is deployed, vulnerabilities can lead directly to asset losses. ENS Labs Chief Information Security Officer Alexander Urbelis said traditional comprehensive audits often take weeks and are costly. If Anthropic's Mythos can push the cost of basic audits close to zero, smaller projects could run continuous scans, raising due diligence standards for developers and institutional investors.
CoinDesk reported on June 20, 2026, that Mythos was withdrawn from the U.S. market after a brief launch earlier in June. SVRN Chief Operating Officer David Schwed said AI can complete reviews and recommend fixes within minutes. But it cannot prevent incidents such as the social engineering attack that cost Drift at least $270 million on April 1, nor can it replace human judgment and key management.
