Singapore’s NUHS AI Pharmacy Platform Targets 850 Hours in Weekly Savings

Singapore’s National University Health System (NUHS) is building a campus-wide AI pharmacy platform that combines medication reconciliation, prescription triage and prescription review. The initiative is significant because pharmacy teams face a heavy volume of repetitive, time-intensive checks that can limit time available for clinical decisions. Automating parts of those workflows could reduce manual workload while helping pharmacists identify medication risks and improve patient safety.

The platform brings together four AI tools designed to support key pharmacy operations across NUHS, according to Issue 52 of the MedTech biweekly report. Once fully deployed, the system is expected to save pharmacists about 850 working hours each week. NUHS is aiming to use the tools to streamline prescription handling and medication checks, allowing staff to focus more resources on higher-value clinical work while improving operational efficiency and medication safety.
