Aave-Led DeFi United Fundraiser Draws More Than 100,000 Addresses
KelpDAO’s rsETH was hit by an exploit worth about $293 million after a vulnerability was discovered, affecting Aave users and cross-chain collateral positions. Aave subsequently joined forces with Lido, EtherFi, Consensys and others to form DeFi United, using capital injections and liquidation mechanisms to reduce bad-debt risks in a major example of a coordinated DeFi rescue.
As of July 19, 2026, DeFi United had drawn participation from more than 100,000 unique addresses and raised over 100,000 ETH. Mantle tokenholders approved a 30,000 ETH credit facility, while Arbitrum DAO voted to provide $71 million worth of ETH. KelpDAO later announced that rsETH had fully resumed normal operations.
