Abraxas Capital Sends $197 Million in Bitcoin, Ether to Exchanges
Abraxas Capital is a crypto asset manager whose large on-chain transfers are closely watched by traders for clues about institutional positioning. Moving Bitcoin and Ether to exchanges can make the tokens available for sale, potentially adding near-term supply to the market. Such deposits do not, however, establish that the firm has sold the assets or intends to liquidate the full amount.
On-chain monitoring reported on July 24 that Abraxas Capital transferred more than 2,200 Bitcoin and 30,800 Ether to major exchanges within seven hours. After accounting for withdrawals over the same period, its net deposits totaled about $197 million. The concentrated inflows prompted heightened discussion among crypto traders about possible short-term selling pressure on both Bitcoin and Ether.
