2 reports · First detected 2026-03-26 · Last active 2026-03-27

Taiwan’s central bank reported that domestic banks’ pretax net profit rose to a record NT$581.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2025, reflecting continued overall earnings growth. However, average profit contribution per employee edged down to NT$2.905 million, indicating that workforce productivity did not rise in step with earnings.

Ten banks recorded per-employee contributions above NT$4 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. Citibank led for an eighth consecutive quarter at NT$16.58 million, while King’s Town Bank and Mega Bank were among those that also topped NT$4 million. Taiwan’s three internet-only banks remained unprofitable, but their losses narrowed from the third quarter of 2025 as their operations continued to improve.
