ACI Worldwide Urges Banks to Orchestrate Payment Security
Banks are adding instant payments and digital wallets while fraud controls, anti-money laundering checks and transaction systems often remain separated by platform. ACI Worldwide says those silos can produce inconsistent risk decisions across channels and leave gaps that criminals may exploit. Cross-platform orchestration is becoming more important as services such as Wero expand and force lenders to support new payment journeys without weakening existing safeguards.
ACI Worldwide’s global head of banking products told EBAday 2026 that most banks still operate with fragmented data and technology stacks. The executive urged lenders to invest in orchestration that coordinates payment authorization, fraud detection and AML screening across legacy and emerging platforms. The aim is to apply the same security policies to every transaction, improve visibility across systems and respond faster when suspicious activity appears as new payment services gain adoption.
