Jack Henry Taps Google AI to Defend Financial Institutions
Generative AI has lowered the barriers to launching cyberattacks, exposing financial institutions to unprecedented security threats. The three largest U.S. core banking system providers operate the back-office systems of more than 70% of the country's depository institutions, making their cybersecurity defenses critical. The partnership means all three providers have now forged strategic ties with AI giants, accelerating the financial sector's adoption of defensive AI against increasingly sophisticated, AI-enabled hackers.
U.S. financial technology provider Jack Henry said on June 25, 2026, that it had expanded its partnership with Google Cloud, using the Gemini platform and Mandiant security technology to build an AI defense platform for about 7,400 community banks and credit unions. The announcement immediately added about $1.7 billion to the company's market capitalization, bringing its total market value to $11 billion.
