Rocket Money Launches Rowan AI Agent to Cancel Subscriptions

Rocket Money, formerly known as Truebill, was acquired by Rocket Companies in 2021 and built its business around tracking spending, managing subscriptions and negotiating bills. Rowan, developed with Anthropic, marks a shift from personal-finance software that merely displays information to an agent that can carry out authorized tasks. The approach could save users time and money, while making accuracy, data access and consumer trust central to adoption.

Rocket Money launched Rowan on Aug. 25, 2026, for selected subscribers through its new Premium Plus tier, with wider availability planned later this year. The agent monitors spending around the clock, sends savings alerts by text and can cancel subscriptions, renegotiate recurring bills or establish automated savings transfers. In Rocket Money’s example, Rowan flags an unused one-month streaming trial in its third week; after the customer replies “cancel,” it contacts the provider, ends the trial and confirms completion.
