Socionext Partners With TSMC on A14-Based AI Data Center Chip

Socionext is a Japanese custom system-on-chip supplier focused on integrating computing functions to meet customers’ requirements. By adopting TSMC’s most advanced A14 process, the company aims to develop chips that combine high performance with energy efficiency as generative AI drives demand for greater data center computing capacity and infrastructure expansion.

Socionext said it is working with TSMC to develop a high-performance computing chip for AI data centers using the A14 process. The company plans to finalize the design of a multicore component in September 2026 and use it as a technology validation platform to test the scalability of CPU and xPU architectures. It has not disclosed the investment amount or a mass-production timetable.
