Insight Partners Invests $200 Million in Spur to Expand Bot Detection
Spur Intelligence, founded in 2017 and based in Lake Mary, Florida, provides real-time IP intelligence that helps companies trace traffic concealed behind VPNs, residential proxies and other anonymizing infrastructure. Its platform delivers signals through APIs, data feeds and session enrichment for fraud, authentication and threat-detection workflows. The technology is becoming more important as bots and AI-driven systems make automated requests harder to distinguish from legitimate users, increasing exposure to fake accounts, fraud and cyber threats.
Spur said on July 28, 2026, that it secured a $200 million investment from global software investor Insight Partners. The company plans to direct the capital toward product development and scaling operations across the business. Spur’s 2026 IP Intelligence Study found that 94% of organizations had encountered anonymizing VPNs or residential proxies in security incidents, while nearly half expected to implement, upgrade or purchase a commercial IP intelligence product within the next 12 months.
