Telegram Integrates Cocoon AI in Major Update With Built-In Text Editor and Bot Management
Telegram has long supported customer service, community moderation and automated services through its Bot API. Its latest update embeds generative AI directly into the message composer. Text is processed by Telegram’s Cocoon AI Network in a confidential environment, with an emphasis on preventing access to user data. The move also pushes Telegram beyond messaging toward becoming a gateway for multi-agent automation.
Telegram released the update on March 31, 2026. Entering more than three lines of text activates an AI editor that can correct grammar, translate and rewrite text in seven styles, including Formal and Short, with two taps. The release also adds more than 10 polling features and support for Live Photos and Motion Photos. The Bot API now lets bots create and manage other bots on users’ behalf. Telegram did not disclose any additional charges.
