BitGo, OTC Markets Plan Tokenized Securities Access for Brokers
Tokenized securities use blockchain infrastructure to represent ownership in assets such as stocks, potentially enabling faster settlement and more efficient use of capital. Institutional adoption, however, depends on regulated trading channels and reliable custody and settlement systems. A partnership between digital-asset infrastructure provider BitGo and OTC Markets could connect tokenized securities with an established network of US broker-dealers.
BitGo and OTC Markets said they plan to offer trading and settlement services for digital-asset securities to more than 150 broker-dealers in the OTC Markets network. BitGo would provide custody infrastructure, while transactions would settle through its Go Network. The initiative remains in the planning stage, and the companies have not disclosed a launch date, expected transaction volume, participating securities or fees.
