Taiwan’s iPASS Targets 2027 Break-Even Before IPO Push
Taiwan’s iPASS Corp. is seeking to turn its transport-card footprint into a broader financial-services ecosystem through its iPASS MONEY electronic-payment business. The company plans to link transit, bill payments, transfers and everyday purchases more closely, aiming to increase transaction frequency and customer retention. Reaching profitability would mark a critical step toward a potential initial public offering after sustained investment in the competitive digital-payments market.
Chairman Kuo Tien-kuei said iPASS aims to reach break-even as early as the end of 2027 by using its strengths in transportation and bill payments to narrow losses in electronic payments. The company is also developing a one-stop app combining bookkeeping and spending-management functions. If the business turns profitable as planned, iPASS will begin IPO preparations, though it has not disclosed a fundraising target or listing timetable.
