NVIDIA and MediaTek Team Up on AI-Native In-Vehicle Assistant Platform

NVIDIA and MediaTek are bringing generative AI into smart cockpits by integrating the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX computing platform with MediaTek’s Dimensity AX cockpit chips. Their goal is to transform vehicles from voice-control tools into AI-native assistants capable of understanding context, reasoning continuously and providing personalized services.

The latest architecture combines in-vehicle edge computing with cloud-based processing and can run large language models with 7B parameters or more inside the vehicle. This is intended to reduce response latency while supporting complex tasks. As of July 20, 2026, no details have been disclosed on the value of the partnership, production vehicle models, participating automakers or the formal launch date.
