Fiserv CEO Pushes Cross-Selling to Accelerate Monetization

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-15 · Last active 2026-09-15

Fiserv sits at the junction of merchant acquiring and bank technology, with products spanning Clover point-of-sale software, payment processing and Finxact core banking. Takis Georgakopoulos took over as chief executive on June 15, 2026, after Mike Lyons left to run Truist Financial. His One Fiserv strategy is intended to break down barriers between Merchant Solutions and Financial Solutions, letting the company cross-sell more services and generate more revenue from a broad installed base of banks, fintechs and merchants.

At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on Sept. 10, 2026, Georgakopoulos said Fiserv would market Finxact’s modern ledger to two-sided e-commerce marketplaces, extending beyond its traditional bank and fintech customers. The company will also keep seeking strategic exits for standalone businesses that miss its growth or margin targets. Fiserv is targeting $500 million of savings while investing $100 million in technology infrastructure; Chief Financial Officer Paul Todd said Project Elevate’s 2029 operating-leverage benefit should be nearly twice the gain expected in 2027.
