OKX Launches X-Perps Crypto Derivatives in Europe

2 reports · First detected 2026-04-15 · Last active 2026-06-09

OKX acquired a Malta-based MiFID-licensed company in March 2025, laying the groundwork to offer regulated derivatives across the European Economic Area. Because MiFID II does not permit traditional perpetual contracts, X-Perps use a five-year maturity structure. The move has drawn attention because about 95% of crypto derivatives trading volume remains offshore, with OKX ranking second globally on $2.19 trillion in volume in the first quarter of 2026.

OKX launched X-Perps in 30 European Economic Area countries on April 15, 2026, initially covering BTC, ETH, XRP, DOGE and PEPE with leverage of up to 10 times. The products accept euros, U.S. dollars and crypto assets as collateral. On June 9, OKX added futures tied to the “Magnificent 7” U.S. stocks, SPY, QQQ, gold, silver, WTI crude and Brent crude, all available for trading 24 hours a day, year-round.
