First Financial Wins Six Awards for Sustainable Finance Push
First Financial Holding has made environmental, social and governance criteria part of its core strategy, using responsible investment, green and sustainability bonds, and renewable-energy financing to steer capital toward Taiwan’s low-carbon transition. The approach matters as banks move beyond screening risks to influencing corporate investment and emissions. By the end of 2024, unit First Commercial Bank held NT$44.5 billion in domestic green-power and renewable-energy investments and had issued NT$5.5 billion of sustainability bonds.
The Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy announced the sixth Taiwan Sustainable Investment Awards on July 6, 2026, with First Financial Group collecting six honors. First Financial Holding was named a role model in the financial holding company category, First Commercial Bank won benchmark status among banks, and First Life Insurance received role-model recognition among insurers. Separately, First Commercial Bank had completed 923 sustainability-linked lending deals with more than NT$1.1 trillion in approved credit by the end of February 2026.
