Taiwan Mobile Plans Agentic AI Push as MWC 2026 Approaches
GSMA-organized MWC 2026 is scheduled for March 2–5, 2026, in Barcelona, Spain, with AI and open ecosystems taking center stage for the telecom industry. Taiwan Mobile plans to deploy Agentic AI as “digital employees” capable of performing tasks autonomously. Through cloud adoption and intelligent operations, it aims to evolve from a connectivity-only “dumb pipe” into a digital services platform.
Taiwan Mobile will showcase its AI and cloud initiatives at MWC 2026 and use Open APIs to make telecom network capabilities available to developers, allowing them to integrate communications and network functions into their services. President Jamie Lin said the company will advance Agentic AI, API access and its developer ecosystem in parallel to improve organizational efficiency while broadening the use cases and commercial value of telecom services.
