Huntington Elevates Brant Standridge in CEO Succession Move
Huntington Bancshares is a Columbus, Ohio-based regional bank holding company with about $284 billion in assets, more than 1,400 branches and operations across 21 states. Steve Steinour has led Huntington as chief executive since 2009. Brant Standridge’s elevation signals that the board’s multiyear succession process is moving into public view as the lender expands in Texas and the U.S. South.
Huntington said on Sept. 8, 2026, that Standridge was appointed president of both Huntington Bancshares and The Huntington National Bank, effective immediately. The former Truist executive will report to Steinour and oversee every revenue-generating business, broadening his remit beyond consumer and regional banking to include commercial banking and payments. Steinour plans to remain chairman and CEO for several more years while focusing on strategy and execution.
