Google Unveils ARD Specification for Cross-Organization AI Agent Discovery

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-23 · Last active 2026-06-23

As enterprises deploy AI agents, tools, skills and agents are often scattered across different organizations and platforms, with no consistent way to discover and verify them. Google’s open ARD specification is designed to provide a mechanism for discovering resources across organizations. It will operate alongside existing agent protocols, reducing the complexity of enterprise integration and governance.

Google unveiled the ARD specification in July 2026, enabling AI agents to find and verify available tools, skills and other agents across organizations and platforms. ARD will not replace existing protocols. Google also said it plans to integrate the specification natively into its Gemini enterprise agent platform, strengthening access controls and governance capabilities.
