CME to Launch 24/7 Trading for 100-Ounce Silver Futures

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-11 · Last active 2026-08-11

CME Group is expanding round-the-clock access to precious-metals derivatives as investors seek to react more quickly to economic data, geopolitical developments and moves across global markets. Its 100-ounce silver futures contract is designed primarily for retail participants, offering a smaller and more accessible instrument for gaining silver exposure, managing price risk and improving flexibility outside conventional trading hours.

The derivatives exchange said 100-ounce silver futures will begin trading 24 hours a day, seven days a week from Sept. 11. The move follows the introduction of continuous trading for CME’s one-ounce gold futures, which the company described as successful, and extends the same format to silver amid stronger demand for uninterrupted precious-metals trading and risk-management tools.
