AI-Accelerated Software Development Tests Security Validation at Cloud-Native Organizations

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-03 · Last active 2026-07-03

AI-assisted development has shortened the enterprise software cycle from coding and testing to deployment, while cloud-native teams are changing production environments more frequently. Traditional penetration tests are generally conducted on fixed schedules, meaning systems may have changed by the time reports arrive. As a result, vulnerabilities, business-logic flaws and access-control risks cannot be validated in step with releases, widening the gap between software delivery speeds and security governance.

Aikido Security published its State of AI in Pentesting 2026 report after surveying 400 executives at cloud-native organizations in Europe and the United States. According to a July 3 report by iThome, 76% of organizations had restricted or rolled back AI activity over security concerns during the previous 12 months. Another 76% deployed major changes at least weekly, but only 21% performed security validation with every release, while 48% said test findings were already outdated by the time they received the reports.
