ChatGPT Enterprise Adds Spending Controls and Monthly Credit Limits
OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu products are primarily designed for centralized deployment of generative AI by businesses and educational institutions, with organizations typically managing costs and access to advanced features. As adoption grows among employees, faculty and students, tracking credit consumption and billing across units has become increasingly important for budget governance, internal cost allocation and preventing overspending.
As of July 20, 2026, OpenAI had introduced enhanced usage analytics and spending controls for ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu. Administrators can set monthly credit limits by workspace, group or individual user and view detailed billing information and analytics in an upgraded admin console. OpenAI did not announce standardized pricing, and actual costs continue to depend on each institution’s contract and usage.
