Team8 Raises $365 Million as Weekly Fintech Funding Hits $808 Million
Global fintech funding remains concentrated in larger rounds and companies building core financial infrastructure, as banks and enterprises accelerate spending on payments, automation and cybersecurity. The spread of artificial intelligence is sharpening demand for tools that can modernize workflows and defend new digital systems, making capital flows into infrastructure and PayTech a gauge of how quickly the financial industry is upgrading its underlying technology.
FinTech Global said on Aug. 14 that 12 deals raised $808 million during the week, up from $673 million across 15 transactions a week earlier. Financial infrastructure led with five deals, while PayTech, CyberTech and WealthTech recorded two each. Team8 announced more than $365 million in new capital, comprising $265 million for Team8 Capital’s third flagship fund and over $100 million for follow-on investments in top-performing portfolio companies. The raise brought Team8’s assets under management across eight funds to nearly $2 billion.
